The Daily Read: Madness At Kentucky & More

Kentucky, Memphis Start New Eras ... Very Differently
While BT alum Dana O'Neil (ESPN.com) wrote that Kentucky's Big Blue Madness was essentially a faith-healing staring John Calipari, Geoff Calkins of The Commercial Appeal, wrote about the overflow crowd and good vibes seen at Memphis Madness.  While Kentucky fans were in a frenzy over John Calipari, who "laid it on thick and laid it on loud," according to O'Neil, it looks like Memphis fans are washing their hands of Calipari and focusing on the future.

*  And speaking of Kentucky, by now everyone knows about the school's contract settlement with Billy Gillispie, but check out this math from BT's Rick Bozich.

*  It seemed like Xavier Henry's recruitment to Kansas played out like a 10-year saga, but that's all finally over.  The freshman made his official debut as a Jayhawk this weekend, writes J. Brady McCollough of Kansas City Star.
Meanwhile, former h.s. megastar Lance Stephenson remains ineligible at Cincinati, according to BT's Dick "Hoops" Weiss.  Hopefully, more can be learned about Stephenson's status during Big East Media Day on Wednesday (BTO will be in attendance).
